>>>>> So I think we could replace binrepos svn with something like this :
>>>>>
>>>>> - on valstar, a script to upload a file, accessed by ssh using "mgarepo
>>>>> upload". The script saves all files in the same directory, using
>>>>> sha1sum for the filename. And the directory is accessible by http.

>>>> What happens when a file with the same sha1sum already exists?

>>> It is used and doesn't need to be uploaded again.
>>
>> That's of course fine when the 2 files are identical but if they're not

>
> In theory it's possible, but in practice I don't think we'll see two
> meaningfull files with the same sha1sum.
>
> But if it happens we can use a tar.gz file instead of tar.bz2, or
> something else to have a different sha1sum.

Just to be sure, why not make the file name "sha1sum-size", that way
you're massively decreasing the likelihood of an sha1sum clash.
