<PRE>I read this discussion and I do have some points to add:

</I>I know there are exceptions to this rule (e.g. when the real name would
not be pronouncable in the target language) and I learned, that some
languages do translate names as a rule.
So from my POV, you should do, what is the rule in your language, so the
reader has a normal reading experience.
