OK, then one possibility is to make KDE use defgault settings.
KDE store user settings etc somewhere in the hidden folder .kde4 in your home
directory.
Quick fix:
*while NOT logged in as you user*, rename it, and then log in as you, and KDE
will recreate it with default settings.
Rename, do not delete!
If it works, think about if you want to copy back some applications files/data
from the renamed folder.
There are a lot of apps in ~/.kde4/share/apps
notably the kmail folder if you store yourmail there.
You wil then have made a fresh start of everything you did not copy back.
Possibly instead of all above you could just rename whatever that folder is
where KDE store its settings you have problem with... maybe
~/.kde4/share/config/
(again, while not logged in as you)
I think you should try that first
Someone more into KDE may fill in here...
You might also want to try the KDE forum or search the web
