In which case won't pre-Windows 8 versions of Windows fail to boot?
Can you quote a source w.r.t. ASUS & Gigabyte situation, please?
A. My responses from: (See also ref to relevant lwn discussion at tail
of this)
(Have I over-interpreted their replies: you judge)
1. ASUS (The actual motherboard mentioned was just one of their new
UEFI ones I selected to keep the website happy)

We are looking at buying motherboards based on the Intel 2011 pinout,
for use with
linux.. You use UEFI. Do you provide a way to disable secure boot to
enable us to
boot any linux or other operating system of our choice? How do you
implement this?
With thanks,

Dear Andrew,
Thankyou for the prompt reply. Unfortunately you didn't answer my
question about
UEFI at all.
I am asking about _all_ your Intel 2011 pin-out boards.
I ask again, does your UEFI have a way to turn off secure boot?
Alternatively, have you
set it up so it will only boot Microsoft software?
Do you have any Intel 2011 boards with a UEFI where the user can turn
off secure
boot? Which models?
Thanks for your time
Regards,
