lördagen den 12 november 2011 13.05.34 skrev Barry Jackson:
> I have always run KDE Cauldron and mga1 with a common /home without any
> problems, however since the introduction of 4.7.3 in Cauldron it is
> impossible to boot into a KDE mga1 graphical desktop using the same
> account.
> ~/.kde4 is "upgraded" on running Cauldron.
>
> I guess that back compatibility is probably not a KDE priority.
>
> Has anyone else managed to find a workaround for this, or got any
> suggestions? (other than installing task-gnome in mga1 !)

I am thinking on a mga1/Chauldron dual boot.

I plan to use separate /home partitions

And have a separate partition where i have a tree of folders for common files
which i mount or link into the respective /home/user

example: partition Users, fulder /myself/Documents i mount at
/home/myself/Documents in both mga1 and Chauldron

Of course i need to have same user and group IDs.

( Maybe share applications special folders such as browsers, maybe mail too
but it may be compatibility between versions of programs installed in
mga1/chauldron, so best avoid it. )
