</I>Yes, if you read the old Mandriva posts about this, it stopped working a 
few Mdv versions ago and persists with Mageia v.1. We should try to 
correct this so that we can stand apart from Mdv.

There always seems to be suggestions of work-arounds but the problem is 
never fixed.
