</I>>><i> Agreed. If you haven't checked it, try making a black copy. I know that

</I>My mistake. The only HP all-in-ones that I have had, an Officejet and a
PSC, have each had "copy" buttons for making both black and color copies
as a stand-alone device. I made the mistake of assuming yours was the
same. It confirms the adage, "Never assume."
Even so, since you're partially able to print the test page, your
printer and computer are communicating. It might be possible to load a
text document of some sort and print it, making sure to set your
"properties" to black-only grayscale.
It's possible that your printer will work, even if the test page prints
incorrectly. Using Mandriva 2010.2, my Officejet refuses to print the HP
Device Manager test page on a single sheet of paper. It uses three.
Don't ask why - I don't know. Yet it prints everything else just fine.
(Well, there's a duplexer issue, but that's not confined to the
Officejet and has nothing to do with the test page.) BTW, the
three-sheet test page problem doesn't exist in Mageia - so far.
