</I>Is your /var on a separate partition? I had the same problem with 
/var/lock and /var/run. To solve this i had to rename those directories 
(later deleted them) and i created two symlinks /var/lock -&gt; /run/lock 
and /var/run -&gt; /run - after that filesystem installed w/o problems.
