1) Alexandria is not maintained upstream anymore

&#8220;New features and future development are being carried out in a separate
project called Palatina. It&#8217;s a complete re-write, and is currently at
an early stage of functionality. If you&#8217;re intersted in helping the
project, or following it&#8217;s progress, you can subscribe to the
palatina-devel mailing-list or check out the wiki.&#8221;

2) There&#8217;s a rewrite of it, but it&#8217;s not active since last september.

3) Alexandria uses ruby-libglade2, which is not part of ruby-gnome2
anymore since version 0.90.6 (we have 0.90.8)

To make a long story short, I don&#8217;t think it&#8217;s worth keeping it. We
would have an unmaintained software, based on unmaintained libraries, so
I&#8217;m in favor of dropping alexandria.
