<PRE>Hi all,

Currently, pk-gstreamer-install is the preferred
gst-install-plugins-helper in update-alternatives and prefer.vendor.list.
When it try to install a missing codec, I obtain these messages and it
doesn't install the needed codec.
...
** Message: PackageKit: structure:
gstreamer0.10(decoder-audio/mpeg)(mpegaudioversion=1)(mpegversion=1)(layer=3)()(64bit)
** Message: PackageKit: Did not install codec: Failed to search for provides
...

IIRC, in order to install missing gstreamer codec packages, the
packagekit backend should have the Whatprovides feature, but the urpmi
backend doesn't have this feature yet.

<A HREF="http://gitorious.org/packagekit/packagekit/trees/master/backends/urpmi">http://gitorious.org/packagekit/packagekit/trees/master/backends/urpmi</A>

Is it planned to have whatprovides in the urpmi backend before the
release of Mageia 1? or should we revert to use codeina? or another
alternative?

Luc

PS: I've already done part of the work locally, in order to have a
functionnal codeina in mageia. If you decide to use codeina, I'll commit
the changes.
