<!--beginarticle-->
<PRE>Hi,
so as said in the meeting yesterday, our main objective for first
release is to be able to upgrade from mandriva.
One consequence of this is that we plan to use Mageia on our own server,
and for that, we need to check that we can upgrade server.
So using my test vm, I first tested the web server alamut :
- we cannot install transifex :
python-django-profile-0.6-1.mga1.noarch requires pythonegg(setuptools)
and this doesn't work.
and both python-curl and python-egenix-mx-base are missing
- iotop is missing. not required, but nice to have
- upgrade went wrong, some error related to perl
Can't locate bytes_heavy.pl in @INC (@INC
contains: /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.10.1/i386-linux-thread-multi
/usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.10.1 /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.10.1/i386-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.10.1
/usr/lib/perl5/5.10.1/i386-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/5.10.1 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.10.0
/usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.10.0/i386-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl .) at /usr/lib/perl5/5.10.1/bytes.pm line 16,
<$curl> chunk 238.
after restarting urpmi, this worked. That's quite weird, so I didn't
report until I do a 2nd try
- bcd could not be upgraded ( not present )
- mandriva-release-Free-2010.1 should have been removed with a
Obsolete/Conflict I think, while here, it was removed because
mandriva-release-common(lib) was missing
here is the list of package that were not upgraded :

While there is some bogus ( kernel for a start, or old libpython ),
there others are likely to cause trouble ( ie, sympa, svm, qemu ).
