> >> > hi,
> >> >
> >> > perl 5.14.0 should arrive soon. it compiles fine on both i586 &
> >> > x86_64, and it seem we fixed the only problem arisen in perl-URPM.
> >> >
> >> > since other packages need to be rebuilt in the same loop, and given
> >> > that urpmi is written in perl, it needs a special treatment to bypass
> >> > the regular bs upload.
> >> >
> >> > blino will likely do this magic dance & upload them in the coming
> >> > hours - you may want to wait till his final go before updating your
> >> > cauldron box.
> >>
> >> Hi,
> >>
> >> I've uploaded perl 5.14 last night.
> >> (I just had to update perl-FCGI to a newer version, since it didn't
> >> build anymore)
> >>
> >> Help is welcome to rebuild perlapi-5.12-dependent packages.
> >>
> >> Thanks Jérôme!
> >
> > I'll help to build
>
> Thanks for helping but
> 1) Please use a better changelog message, like "Rebuild for perl
> 5.14". Increase rel for rebuild is not interesting when looking at the
> history of a package.
OK will do next time
> 2) How did you get the list of packages to rebuild? You seem to
> rebuild packages which don't need to be rebuilt. I noticed
> perl-Youri-Package which I wouldn't expect needing to be rebuilt.

I am not a perl guru. I agreed with sander85 to start at the end so we don't
both work on the same packages.
I used this list: http://pkgsubmit.mageia.org/data/src.txt
Will it hurt to build one that is not needed?

>
>
> # rpm -qp --requires
> /distrib/bootstrap/distrib/1/i586/media/core/release/perl-Youri-Package-0.2
> .2-4.mga1.noarch.rpm perl-version
> rpmlib(PayloadFilesHavePrefix) <= 4.0-1
> rpmlib(CompressedFileNames) <= 3.0.4-1
> rpmlib(VersionedDependencies) <= 3.0.3-1
> perl-base >= 2:5.12.3
> rpmlib(PayloadIsLzma) <= 4.4.6-1
>
> It does not depend on perlapi-5.12
