Okay, - What is the governance of this project ?
I believe that the old worker of Mandriva are the most activs. But it is
not very false when person like Mahteus (or me), are feeling a problem.
I don't doubt that the governance of the project is not null ... But we,
others of "who maintain the list", we don't see anything.
Who is actually the captain, or most contributers ?
Who is the team who decide the rules like : to put TXT format and not
HTML format in the mail of the list ? Or to speak only in english ? Or
to do only RPM and not DEB ? This 3 late days, I have only seen this
kind of movement.
So, I think I (and a lot of others) will take more confidence in this
project if certain person said what they do.
We have a wiki for write what each can do. But we have nothing for
"institute" what will be done, when, and who do what ?
Just a first question : when and where will be done the first meeting of
the foundation in France ? I want participate, I will take a day of
holidays in my company for the creation and write of the statuts of this
foundation. But, it seems that someone is back the decision, and now,
actually, I don't see who (or which group).
Mageia will not survive if you make the sames mistake of the last
managers of Mandriva. For me it was : decision in dark and no visibility
to the community.
This community is not only maked from hard-coders for fun ... but also
people not exclusively technicians but can bring a lot to a community
(which I also learned to make ABAP / java / Ada95 10 years ago, but now,
I am no more exactly in this job ... and can give a little part of me).

Je crois que les anciens de Mandriva sont les plus actifs que tous au
sein de ces mailing-lists. Mais je rejoins Matheus quand il affirme
qu'il y a un problème.
Je ne doute pas que la gouvernance du projet n'est pas inexistante ...
Mais nous autres qui ne sommes pas les porteurs de la liste, nous ne
voyons rien.
Qui est en réalité le capitaine du navire, ou quels sont les
contributeurs principaux?
Par exemple : Qui est l'équipe qui décide des règles telles : mettre en
format TXT et non en format HTML dans la mailing-list? Ou de ne parler
qu'en anglais ? Ou de ne faire que des RPM et pas des DEB ? Ces derniers
3 jours, je n'ai vu que ce genre de mouvement dans les envois.
Donc, je crois (et beaucoup d'autres que moi aussi, je le sent) que
j'aurais bien plus confiance dans ce projet si certaines personnes
disaient ce qu'elles font et ce qu'elles ont en tête.
Nous avons un wiki pour écrire ce que chacun peut faire. Mais nous
n'avons rien pour "instituer" ce qui sera fait, quand, et qui devra
faire quoi ?
Juste une première question: Où et quand se fera la première réunion de
l'association en France ? Je veux bien participer, je vais prendre une
journée de congés/RTT dans mon entreprise pour la création et participer
à écrire des statuts de cette fondation. Mais, il semble que quelqu'un
est déjà en train de tout verrouiller et de prendre les décisions en
fait, je ne vois pas encore qui (ou quel groupe).
Mageia ne survivra pas si vous faites la même erreur des derniers
gestionnaires de Mandriva. Cette erreur était de tout décider dans
l'ombre sans donner une visibilité à la communauté. La dite communauté
qui n'est pas uniquement conçue de pisseurs de code là pour se faire
plaisir ... mais aussi de gens qui sans être pour antant des techniciens
peuvent apporter à une communauté (quoi que j'ai aussi appris à faire de
l'ABAP / java / Ada95 il y a 10 ans).
