(I mailed this to two of them, on september 7th. At that time, I wasn't aware that grub install might be related to a different package than drakx-installer-stage2):

I'm learning to be a bug squad member, and I don't know which one of you
to address.
Dorileo is the only one who maintains installer, according to this list:

And according to Sophie, there isn't a drakx-installer-stage2
maintainer, but I know Pascal accepted installer issues before. Did you
maintain drakx-installer-stage2 in Mandriva, Pascal?

But since they didn't have time to reply fast (and I didn't manage to patiently wait), I figured it would be easier to address this problem in, e.g., an install.txt.
Anyway, I'll have a look at the links you gave, Manuel, though the above one (<A HREF="http://mageia.org/1/notes/">http://mageia.org/1/notes/</A>) is very unreadable to me, it's kind of empty ;)
