<PRE>I think with any artwork that is used, that the creater should be able 
to show people how they made it, or be able to tell people how they made 
it, to the extent that someone else is able to make the same artwork 
from Mageia.  I think something like this was done for the Mageia logo?

An alternative would be to only accept artwork from trusted 
contributors, and ones that are providing their names, and lots of 
contact details.
