+</o:shapelayout></xml><![endif]--></head><body lang=EN-GB link=blue vlink=purple><div class=WordSection1><p class=MsoNormal>I have just tried an update from Mandriva, in part because I couldn&#8217;t update from 2010 to 2011 due to problems with Mandriva package install, missing dependencies and memory leaks.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p>&nbsp;</o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>All went well apart from a few packages (not vital) not installing due to Mandriva/Mageia conflicts.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p>&nbsp;</o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>I had no problem rebooting, maybe because I had chosen an upgrade.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p>&nbsp;</o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>I did have a problem with the hal daemon not starting before trying to get updates, and could get no updates before I&#8217;d rebooted.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>I also got a Gnome disk notification error while Gnome came up, but the Gnome Bugzilla couldn&#8217;t connect to send it.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p>&nbsp;</o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>I&#8217;ll report again after I&#8217;ve updated everything and added more packages. I am trying to update right now.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p>&nbsp;</o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>One suggestion, because I upgraded the only kernels that are named are Mandriva. I had to guess which were the Mageia kernels. They were just labelled &#8216;Linux&#8217; which was different to any Mandriva one but of course that can be changed if I relabelled.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p>&nbsp;</o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>If I&#8217;m successful with the cross-distro upgrade, next step is a clean install.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p>&nbsp;</o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>I am using the i586 version with a single AMD 2 GHZ processor, 512 MB of RAM and an Nvidia FX5200 graphics card. +First of all, thanks Oliver for  the link...apparently it&#39;s much more faster and stable then those on the blog...<div><br></div><div>Regarding the mirror, i do have more then A university near me...but i cant get in touch with the teachers in charge of these things...that&#39;s why i said i wanna buy a pc and turn it into a mirror :)</div>

+especially when there is nothing special ( and no finished design ). I guess we didn&#39;t say<br>
