> > well, in any case, we should have some kind of policy regarding packages;
> > the "official community versions" should be built in more or less the
> > same way with the same base packages, diff translations and diff other
> > packages.
> >
> > some kind of policy would be required here, to be able to handle bug
> > reports from that medium
> >
> > also, the iso packager(s) should then be listed in bugzilla as contact
> > for that. in case of releases being from there.
>
> I would assume that someone asking for help due to a slow connection,
> would be wanting the Mageia downloaded DVD. I had not thought that there
> would be a community version. Would that be kind of a fork of the
> official DVD version? I honestly had not considered that this was being
> done, but now I can well imagine that for example, a German Mageia
> Community would create its own version and distribute this. I would
> imagine then that that particular German Community would the assume
> responsibility over the DVD and any reported bugs?
>

I wouldn't go so far. they could, but they probably won't want to deal with
the bugs themselves.

The reason i state this is just so that people from that community could get
help easily.

also, it could kind of be there to help the iso packagers to make working
release media.
