it is my understanding that currently perl-GTK is being used for all
drakxtools. if a suitable perl-QT exists and possibly a compatibility layer in
between (which could work with both), then i see no issue about this.

reading Mandriva's latest statement, they seem to want better KDE integration,
possibly they will not be using any GTK anymore to reduce workload.

We could possibly let Mandriva handle this and get their version of it; or
even work together on that. but _IMHO_, it's not a priority for mageia.

> Yes, true. But the way I see it its either QT4 land or GTK land. I am

> >> Sounds exciting. But don't sure about pure Qt4. Perhaps KDE can do it
> >> better
> >> using KParts?
> >> It will looks like KDE4 System Settings. Perhaps control center can even
> >> be
> >> integrated with KDE's System Settings.
> >> I belive it won't be a challenge and will looks like native for KDE
> >> users and useable as a separate application for other desktop users.
> >
> > The idea to isolate each drakxtools and make them integrated into
> > KDE/GNOME had been
> > seen in the specs of past release, but never seen in play.
> >
> > But I think the way MCC works now is the best way, since you can't only
> > consider
> > only KDE/GNOME, there's other desktop environment like
> > e17/LXDE/XFCE...etc. _______________________________________________
