Could you please try to remove all hplip and cups packages,
clear your /etc/cups/printers.conf and reinstall cups, and try a manual
install of hplip according to http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/install/manual/distros/other.html
This would rule if the problem could be in our packages.

I have attempted to install HPLIP thsi way, but while he tries to configure things up, he hits to this :

checking for jpeg_set_defaults in -ljpeg... no
configure: error: "cannot find libjpeg support"

Here is the complete log : http://pastebin.com/p9XHbca9

libjpeg packages, including it's statis and devel packages are installed. So I do not know what to do.

Also, I have tested two things :

- Using another Mageia 1 operating system disk on the same computer and printer WORKS. So my mother's system seems to being the only one affected.
- Connecting another printer to the computer (Photosmart 330) also prints a big black square, although it is properly handled and used by any other Mageia 1 system, including my laptops and desktop.

So I do not think that the Mageia packages are the cause, except if a rare exception is making things buggy. I wonder if DBus or user groups could not be one part of the issue.
