Hi,

It's me, the guy from Costa Rica. I was thinking the same a couple of weeks ago. I installed the alpha release and noticed that the pictures were the same. I have some ideas and I think I can help with some designs (or at least, prototypes). But I need the grid and the Mageia logo in SVG format. Where can I find them?
Hi guys,

You may know that Mageia's installer shows some promotional pictures
during the installation[1], which are supposed to demonstrate the main
characteristics and assets of Mageia. For Mageia 1, a contributor took
the time to design a few pictures to promote some aspects of Mageia,
and these are still shown in the installer of Mageia 2 beta 1.
Now, it would be good for Mageia 2's look that we design some new
pictures. To do so, it could be great that Marcom and Artwork work
together to come with a bunch of pretty professional-looking pictures
which enforce Mageia's values and trademark.

The fact is, artwork freeze is on March, 10th, i.e. in a bit more than
two weeks. So we need to decide what we want to do, who will do it and
using which resources and content.
So, what are your ideas for these pictures?

I had an initial idea, but you may find better ones. I thought that we
could do 5 pictures, each dedicated to one of the core values of
Mageia[2], i.e.:
- Mageia is social software
- Mageia is powerful technology
- Mageia is knowledge
- Mageia is quality
- Mageia is open relations
I have no idea about how these key points could be conveyed through
artwork, but it could give us hints for the content.

There could be other possibilities, such as promoting the content
included in the distribution and the repositories: Mageia Control
Center, LibreOffice, latest version of KDE, powerful IDEs, awesome
games such as Battle for Wesnoth, etc..
We could also focus on the community, displaying small overviews of
the work of some of our teams, etc..

So, what are your ideas?

Regards,
Rémi / Akien
