> Today I set up a clean install of Mageia 2 on a laptop. I think I
> may be missing some important package, as many things in KDE don't
> work as they do here. I'm unable to run dolphin while su'd to
> root, for instance. I'll follow up on this tomorrow with collected
> error messages.
>
> Meanwhile, more urgent, is the need to edit fstab in order to
> connect to our NAS.

> I can't see any significant difference between my fstab settings
> and David's. However, on David's the mounts are refused while mine
> have no problems.
>
> mount -a mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on
> 192.168.0.200:/DataFromBorg2, missing codepage or helper program,
> or other error (for several filesystems (e.g. nfs, cifs) you might
> need a /sbin/mount.<type> helper program) In some cases useful info
> is found in syslog - try dmesg | tail or so

> I've checked the properties and permissions on the NAS, confirming
> that David does has r/w permissions. If he uses the web
> interface to log in he can see the subdirectories of DataFromBorg
> and also /David.
>
> I'm completely stuck. Any ideas?
>
I should add that expected behaviour is that when he selects the
folder in Dolphin he should be asked for login details. Until this
behaviour is found and his credentials "remembered" he won't be able
to access files via a folderview - his preferred method.
