> >>>>> Trouble for most (if not almost all) wireless usage is that we would
> >>>>> need to know how to find and connect to the wireless AP and enter
> >>>>> passwords etc, and this falls out of scope of boot.iso as it needs
> >>>>> network access to download stage2 installer where this could be done.
> >>>>
> >>>> Uhmm, maybe i didn't understand something, but what
> >>>> would be the point then to have some wireless firmwares
> >>>> in boot-nonfree.iso ?
> >>>
> >>> not much for now, the iwl packages I have added is in order to test
> >>> what can be done... but that is still wip....
> >>>
> >>> But it also carries kernel-firmware-nonfree wich is needed for some
> >>> disc controllers and even wired lan cards and so on...

I put a suggestion on a stripped down LiveCD here:

https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5467

For best HW compatibility, but not having to download a whole CD.
(It is much for some people)

> >>
> >> Is it supposed to support PC-cards?
> >>
> >> I got the feeling my PC card did not get powered/initialised, as not
> >> even the LED showing cable connection lit up.
> >
> > Now I remeber i did take a photo of the message when it gives up.
> >
> > I type it here:
> > No NET device found.
> >
> > Hint: If you're using a Laptop, note that
> > PCMCIA Network adapters are now supported
> > either with 'pcmcia.img' or 'network.img'.
> > please try both these bootdisks.
> >
> > [OK]
>
> Heh, thats old code/warning/info that should be removed...

https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5466

>
> > Not finding these images i suppose this message should be updated to
> > refer to all.img and/or boot-nonfree.iso?
>
> file a BR

Two: wifi and PC-Card respectively support on network installer isos.
https://forums.mageia.org/en/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=2191&p=16743#p16743

> attach output of dmesg and lspcidrake -v

Actually i have changed wifi now for better performance.
I wil test whatever gets asked in the bug.
-if it is at all intended to be supported or we just set this as enhancement
request(s) instead.
