I'm using skype-2.2.0.25-fedora.i586.rpm here with as far as I can tell
all functions working.

Installed using 'urpmi --allow-nodeps skype-2.2.0.25-fedora.i586.rpm'

This commandline was taken from a past on the Mandriva Cooker list. The
date was 30 August 2009, poster was Pe&#357;o&#353; &#352;afa&#345;&#237;k &lt;<A HREF="https://www.mageia.org/mailman/listinfo/mageia-dev">petos at mandrivalinux.cz</A>&gt;.

I've had no problems using this installation method since then.
