The same happens to me but only with ogg songs. With mp3 I have no
problems at all.
If the same happens to you, let's report a bug.

i think that amarok needs xine as phonon backend
Clementine uses gstreamer , and can benefits crossfade between songs for that (xine does nt support any more crossfade)
