The flip would nt work, because as you can see in the screenshot some elements as the window titles, the mouse pointer, the taskbar, are not "rotated"
The driver in the xorg was nvidia, but it did nt have the "real" nvidia driver installed but a package with a name "custom" inside .

I had to install nvidia from tainted to solve this
