As said initially the idea was to jump in the 4.9 during beta2 or rc1. However due to a non working computer i'm not able to work on cauldron currently (a working computer is expected in 2 weeks ).
You can start working on it if you want (this means also upgrading soprano to the current beta, shared desktop ontologies etc..).
There's also several changes in kdelibs kde runtime regarding nepomuk which is now also splitted out.
You should also cherry pick the udisk2 patch from fedora so colin will be happy ;)

It would be also nice to push everything in the same time to minimize downtime four our ten kde users ;)
