Hi,
What kind of improvement ?
Does it requires changes in some others packages ( ie new options,
deprecated options, packages to rebuild ) ?

AFAIK, there should be no new dependency to resolve.
But the changelog of GCIN haven't been maintained for a long time (still at 1.5.9),
by surfing through the GCIN forum, there's a new important function: On-Screen Keyboard.
Completely build-in, so should be more useful for inputing, especially for tablet.
