Thanks for the reply, Col, but something has still changed or is not 
right here.

For one thing, rpmdrake has always displayed both flavors of 
arch-specific packages.  For another, urpmi when asked to install the 
i586 RPM just ends without doing anything; it's not giving the &quot;package 
already installed&quot; error.

i agree with you about splitting out the library.  In any case, this 
turned out to be a red herring; I blew away .wine and reinstalled the 
application, and the pkcs11 message still appears but execution proceeds 
anyway.
