I have never had much joy with boot.iso using NFS either - so I use HTTP.

I run apache on the machine with the mirror and link the mirror tree
root to /var/www/http/pub

Then, using boot.iso select:
Installation Method: http server
Network Connection Type: static
IP of this machine: (I.P. of machine being installed)
IP of DNS (normally router IP
IP of default gateway (normally router IP)
Proxy settings: leave blank
Specify the mirror manually
Http server - enter IP address (only) of server with mirror
Mageia Directory - enter full path from server root e.g.
pub/linux/Mageia/distrib/2/x86_64

that works for me ;)
