+Well, I tried the mga2b3 GNOME iso on the X51 and got nowhere. As my 
+later post indicates the display is now working properly with mga1.  The 
+live CD however has no idea how to drive the nVidia card and produces a 
+display which is unuseable.  This should be the subject of another 
+thread so I shall follow up later.  Meanwhile maybe a test on my 
+production machine.
