Well. This should be written in the package description of cpufreqd.

I'm trying to use autofs to mount on demand from an nfs server.

The same, simple, configuration is working on mandriva 2010.0 but not on mageia 1.

In /etc/autofs/auto.master I just put

/net /etc/autofs/auto.net --timeout=60

If I run automount on the foreground on the mandriva machine, this is what I see
when I try to ls /net/pippo:

# automount -f -v
Starting automounter version 5.0.5, master map auto.master
using kernel protocol version 5.01
mounted indirect on /net with timeout 60, freq 15 seconds
ghosting enabled
attempting to mount entry /net/pippo
mounted offset on /net/pippo/home with timeout 60, freq 15 seconds
mounted /net/pippo

On the mageia 1 machine I just get a file not found reply to ls /net/pippo and I
see no attempt to mount from automount:

# automount -f -v -v
Starting automounter version 5.0.5, master map auto.master
using kernel protocol version 5.02
mounted indirect on /net with timeout 60, freq 15 seconds
ghosting enabled

The output of "/etc/autofs/auto.net pippo" is the same on both machines:

-fstype=nfs,hard,intr,nodev,nosuid \
        /home pippo:/home

Am I doing something wrong or should I file a bug report?

I think Oliver would agree that your mail concerns only French people,
still I think his point was that it would have been nice for
non-French-speaking people that you introduce your mail in English,
saying something like:
“The following mail is about a job proposal in Paris for French

Did you leave it a good while at that point? It can take a long time to
rebuild kernel modules for a newer kernel.

I was going to say press escape to see the text boot process but you
can't without a keyboard :\

Now that I think about it, I recall that when I switched from a PS2
keyboard to a USB one, I had to change a BIOS setting to get it
recognized by Grub. Once it timed out and booted the default, the
keyboard worked perfectly. Had me scratching my head for a few days, I
can tell you.

But that was with Mandriva 2010.0 or 2009.1 and you said it worked with
Mandriva, and you also said it froze later, which mine didn't. And my
incident was with an existing install, not a new one.

So maybe your problem is different. Still, it might not hurt to check.
If you have such a BIOS setting and changed it before, perhaps something
caused the BIOS to reload the defaults.

It's been a while and I'm not sure about this, but it almost seems like
I had to use a PS2 keyboard to get into the BIOS, until I changed that
setting. Sigh. Wish I could remember more.

OK, I looked it up, and that was with an older motherboard and BIOS from
Biostar, and it had to be Mandriva 2009.1. My newer motherboard saw the
usb keyboard automagically.

So it probably doesn't help.

You could maybe boot with the OS2 keyboard and alter the boot options to
disable the boot splash.

I can't recall what the options are but it will either be something like
splash or quiet.

You could then boot with your USB keyboard and see where it is failing.
