+So in other words, the problem is not necessarily that your computer is 
+running hot,
+rather that the fan runs all the time, even when not needed.
+(The heat is essentially generated by the cpu.)
+You could try opening up the portable and cleaning out the dust that has 
+(inevitably) accumulated.  It might be affecting the temporature sensor 
+which controls the fan.
+Otherwise it could be something in the power-saving configuration.  
+(Like cpu frequency ?)
