In some cases leaving Mandriva is appropriate, as originator of the
package in question, for example.
Of course not for support messages. So we have to change these
occurances case-by-case.
With the *.po files, we have the English, so even if we don't know the
other language, we have the context to know if a particular case should
be changed.
With the context, just replacing Mandriva with Mageia should be possible
generally, without needing to mark the translation as fuzzy.

One approach if several people work on this, is to list packages with
"Mandriva" on a wiki page, and mark each package as "working on",
"updated" or "keep", while collectively going through the list. (Much
as was done with the wiki conversion.)

Is it possible to synchronize kdepim with Google and an iPhone 4 on Mageia 1? Mandriva had things packaged that Mageia doesn't like libiphone, libopensync, libopensync-plugin-google-calendar, libopensync-plugin-kdepim, multisync-gui, and msynctool. Are those packages just not packaged, or is there another way to do it? libimobiledevice is packaged for Mageia 1.

Hello.

I sync my iphone 4 with kadressbook using kitchensync at my computer and
SyncML lite at iphone.

If you want to sync with google you can configure a gmail account using

it most definitely is possible and really quite easy with nvidia dual
monitor cards and nvidia-settings. It's also very easy with a laptop
running two screens, using krandrtray. In fact with the latter it's
easier than nvidia-settings sometimes.

As far as useful purpose, blimey, when you're writing software, it's so
nice to have compiler on one window and schematic on another; for laying
out PCBs, having schematic one screen, PCB on the other; when writing
Linux apps with Qt, having creator in one window and designer in
another; for general surfing having Firefox on one, Thunderbird on
another etc etc. I've got two 24" 1920x1080 screens and it makes my
working day *so* much easier.

Go for it, once you've tried it, you'll wonder how you managed without!

Yes.

However, rotating individual displays with the proprietary driver only
works when the displays are set as independent screens.

If you want a single continuous desktop area, you need to use the
nouveau driver which supports rotating individual displays in this case.

I haven't done any of this myself, but this is what I gather from

Totally agree, dual monitors are the best thing since sliced bread.

Anyway, you guys using dual monitors can you look at gnome bug 661243 (mga
bug 1655) and see if you can add some comments that may leading to getting
the problem I reported with gnome-panel fixed.

With my setup I can't get the panel properties to change the background on

In addition you may find you don't get any acceleration, making even
window-dragging a little slow and painful. Or that's what I found using
the 'DisplayPort" connector of my laptop, with an nvidia Quadro FX 880M.

Also, neither that nor the ATI radion X1300 card in my desktop detected
when I rotated the monitor in Linux, or if they did (more likely), they
didn't act on it.
