+The update option at the end of the installer has never worked for me, 
+using the dvd (or cd sets before) with mdk/mdv/mga.  I think largely 
+because my internet connection has never been reliable with the installer.
+(Recently installed networkmanager, which brings me a considerably more

+I always do an update install (rather than clean install), partly to 
+keep my non-free drivers/firmware.  It would be a considerable advantage 
+for users in my circumstances, particularly those with fewer computer 
+skills, to have a DVD with non-free firmware where no reliable free 
+equivalent exists.  We could call it "Essentially free".
+(And if we want to continue to produce the handicapped version without 
+any nonfree firmware, call it "totally free".)
+This would be particularly advantageous for those with limited Internet
