+you can use and modify the spec file from their srpm if you want to
+package faac yourself
+
+You can download the srpms from mageia2 for vlc quicktime gstreamer
+audiokonverter xine mplayer ffmpeg etc... and rebuild the packages after
+having validated the build with faac in the spec files...

+after having installed the buildrequires for each of them...

+If you need handbrake or cinerella you will have to write yourself the
+spec files

+The answer seems to be do it yourself !!!! (that's a repo for nearly 10
+programs built with faac)

+Waiting for a solution from Mageia, I kept my Mandriva 2010.2 on the
