+It's not based on any actual data. But I think people who install both
+DE is not the majority. The goal of this screen is to be as simple as
+possible, but people who want less simple package selection can still
+select "Custom" mode.

+If we replace KDE and Gnome with check boxes, we still need the Custom
+one to disable KDE and Gnome boxes. So I think it will make a more
+complicate screen, for no clear benefits because it's already possible
