+To summarize the problems resulting from selection of "use free space" in 
+HTTP installation of latest Cauldron completed within the hour:

+1-the table chain was not kept in logical order matching the physical layout, 
+putting sda26-8 ahead of sda23-5.

+2-the formula used to create the partitions already existing was not 
+maintained for the creation of the new ones for Mageia's use.
+
+3-existing swap space was not reused, along with no such option
+
+As to #1 & #2, are these behaviors attributable to an upstream partitioning 
+utility incorporated by the installer? If so, which, and are the behaviors 
+among multiple options what the installer might be able to choose instead?

+Unrelated observation: BS key on standard US keyboard does not BS. I had to 
+use ctrl-h when BS was necessary on tty2.
