+I must say (as I did in the above report too) I have not seen this 
+problem here during atleast 20 installs, but I do have more powerful

+an easy way to see if its the kernel Hz that hits you, is:

+at the initial splash screen (where it states "boot from harddisk, 
+install mageia, ...) press esc and accept to go to text screen.

+Then type: alt1 and press enter.
+
+This will start the installer using the server kernel that has HZ_100.
+
+(it will ask you about installation method, just select cdrom and it 
+will continue)
