+It's not needed if you have systemd-sysvinit installed, but by the same
+token, if you already have it in your menu.lst then the bootloader code
+will simply preserve it when adding a new kernel. It's dumb code (in a
+nice way!) so it's not specifically caring that it's an init= argument
+or that it's anything to do with systemd.
+
+So if you want cleaner boot command lines, just tidy up your menu.lst
+manually and they will no longer be added to new kernels. Hope that
+makes sense.
