+I have been takin a look to versions of things, and perhaps you could update
+things in this order:

+- GLib: we have 2.28.6, there is 2.28.8
+- GObjectIntrospection: we have 0.10.7, latest is 0.10.8
+- consolekit: now 0.4.3, there is a 0.4.5
+- gtk is up to date
+- gtk engines -> 2.91
+
+  in this kind of very new release, perhaps a third decimal makes a difference...

+- gdm: get the new 3.0.4
+  could it be that old gdm is not setting things properly for new gnome sessions ?
