+The use of the Scale Invariant Feature Transform (SIFT) algorythm 
+allowing to find control points to build panorama with several pictures 
+is restricted by a US patent... this algorythm is the basis of 
+autopano-sift and autopano-sift-C !
+
+hugin (a pano builder program) brings some patents problems with some of 
+its  tools : this one is an optional tool, and we can use hugin without 
+it... mostly since 2010.4 version of hugin which ships its own patent 
+free control point generator which is quite as good as autopano ;)
+

+the other rpm bringing patent problem is libpano13 (required by hugin) : 
+two versions exist yet for mageia:
+- one in core repository with a limited field of view (160°) and giving 
+this limit to hugin (no patent problem though !)
+- one in tainted repository  without limitation (but infringing US and 
+Japan patents) allowing to build 360° panorama
