In today's cauldron, a fresh install loops in the bootloader stage 
+because something has suddenly decided that it knows when stuff is 
+taking too long.

+VC3 shows "ERROR: killing runaway process 
+(process=mkinitrd.....error=ALARM at /usr/lib/libDrakx/run_program.pm 
+line 92"
+
+In the GUI, you get a graphical prompt saying that an error occurred and 
+mkinitrd failed, and if you click OK (the only choice), it goes and 
+tries the mkinitrd again, fails again, .....
+
+So, basically, the install stops there, as you can't get to Summary.
