Hard Disk Detection and
Configuration
DrakX will
first attempt to detect any IDE and
SATA devices present in your computer. It will also scan
for one or more PCI SCSI cards. If a
SCSI card is found, DrakX will
attempt to install the correct driver.
However, because
hardware detection is not foolproof, DrakX may
fail to detect your SCSI hard drives. If so, you mayl
need to specify your hardware.
If you have had to
specify your PCI SCSI adapter(s),
DrakX will ask if you want to pass configuration
options to it. Allow DrakX to probe the hardware
to determine any card-specific options needed to initialize the
adapter.
DrakX will
usually complete this step without issues.
If
DrakX cannot automatically determine the
parameters to be passed to the hardware, you'll need to manually configure
the driver.
How you determine
these parameters is beyond the scope of this help screen.
