* Add a comment explaining the oft-confused -t nox,y,z mount syntax.Bill Nottingham2011-03-222-0/+2
| | | | | The 'no' applies to all listed filesystem types, not just the first. Since this comes up in bugzilla once every month or two, explicitly comment it.

* Don't do force/lazy umount for the first nfs umount. (#676851, ↵Bill Nottingham2011-03-071-2/+2
| | | | | | | <jlayton@redhat.com>) This can cause hung tasks that aren't cleaned up or killed properly, as their dangling references won't get caught.

* systemctl: honour $SYSTEMCTL_IGNORE_DEPENDENCIESLennart Poettering2011-02-171-1/+6
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Here's a patch for initscripts: If SYSTEMCTL_IGNORE_DEPENDENCIES is set, pass --ignore-dependencies to systemctl. This allows programs which invoke /sbin/service to get more SysV-like behaviour, i.e. where starting a service does not pull in any dependencies and honours no ordering. By default we continue to honour the dependencies since this is usually safe and allows other software to hook into all services regardless by who they are started. This is the result of a discussion with the IPA people, Simo Sorce in particular.

* Don't frob the console loglevel on boot. (#621257, #626572)Bill Nottingham2010-08-241-5/+0
| | | | | | | | 1) This didn't do anything useful prior to rsyslog, as sysklogd would reset it. 2) This overrides the kernel commandline, for people who want to temporarily reset it there 3) This actually turns messages back on out from underneath plymouth, which isn't nice. To frob the console loglevel, pass it on the kernel command line.

* Remove support for hotkey interactive startup. (#605016)Bill Nottingham2010-06-301-20/+0
| | | | | | | | It cannot work reliably as done in this way. (It's possible to do surgery to do it in plymouth itself, but not here.) Interactive startup via the 'confirm' commandline option is still available.

| | | | | | It's not just init that could be mislabeled and cause problems; there's udev, random other command from rc.sysinit, etc. Furthermore, this avoids a problem with ending up in permissive mode.
