+It is a problem with the .aac file format combined with this codec. It 
+works fine with bitrate 192kbit/s just not with anything lower. The codec 
+also works with any bitrate when output to mp4 (aka quicktime movie) 
+files. Or are you saying you do not like the audio quality of this codec?

+There is now also fdk-aac which is supposed to be good. It has a special 
+license that is somewhat similar to the GPL, may be compatible or not.
